Flu Jabs are starting later this year – find out why

This year, the Practice will start giving Flu vaccines from 3rd October in line with government guidance.

Scientific evidence has shown that it is better to have the flu jab later than in previous years to make sure patients have cover closer to the time that flu typically circulates. The exception to this is for Pregnant women who should have the vaccine from September as protection is passed to the baby and gives them protection for the first few months of their life.

Who should have flu vaccinations?

Flu vaccination is recommended for those who are most at risk of getting complications if they catch flu. This includes everyone aged over 65, pregnant women and those with certain long-term health conditions.

Covid vaccinations

The Practice will also be able to provide covid vaccinations this winter. You can get this along side your flu jab at our vaccination clinics (please note Covid vaccines are not available during routine appointments).
